ABOUT BISHOP MICHAEL YOUNG
Bishop Michael Young was born on January 13th, 1975, in Stuart Point, South Carolina. He is the youngest child of the late Mother Flora Young Brown and graduated from Battery Creek High School in 1992.
Bishop Young is the widower of Pastor Leslie B. Young. Together, they have one son, Ra’Keem Young, who is married to the former Ms. Chanell Brown.
Bishop Young’s journey in ministry began with his ordination as a Deacon, during which he became affectionately known in Beaufort as the "Preaching Deacon." In 2000, he answered a higher calling and was licensed as a Minister in 2001 under the mentorship of Apostle Leroy Evans. His steadfast dedication and exemplary service were soon recognized, and upon the chartering of God's Deliverance Temple, he was appointed as Co-Pastor. In January 2012, he ascended to the role of Senior Pastor of God's Deliverance Temple.
A pivotal moment in Bishop Young's career was his integration into The United Temple of Praise Churches organization under the esteemed leadership of the late Bishop Raynard Sumpter, Sr. On December 3, 2013, he was consecrated as a Bishop. Demonstrating his unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership, he was elevated in 2017 to the position of Presiding Bishop of United Temple of Praise Deliverance Churches, Inc. Today, Bishop Young continues to extend his influence and service as the Assistant Overseer of Covenant byDesign, under the visionary leadership of Chief Apostle Dianne Curry.
